Andean Blue/Pink Opal - Technically I'm a Hydrated Silicon Dioxide, with varying levels of water inside me.  I get my opal-essence by my many organized pockets of tiny spheres made up of Silicon and Oxygen, which diffract light at various wavelengths creating my pretty colors.  I'm also known as Peruvian Blue/Pink Opal. I am born high in the Andean mountains.  My hardness varies from 4.5 to a 6.5.

In my BLUE variety I am known as a stone of courage and ingenuity. I can improve self-esteem and self-love. I have also been found to be an aid to creativity and communication of all types. I can assist one in finding a confidant. I also help with stress reduction, fatigue, and weight loss. Crystal healing lore reputes that I am physically healing for fatigue, chronic fatigue syndrome, metabolic balance issues, iron absorption, dizziness, and brain disorders. As my color would suggest, I work well with the throat chakra.

In my PINK variety I am a stone of love and gentleness. I brings energies of gentle love and kindness to both romantic relationships and relationships of other kinds. As with other opals, I also bring inspiration, imagination and creativity. I can help release inhibitions and bring happy dreams. I can also ease the process of change. Physically, I can be helpful for eyesight, heart disease and injury, Parkinson's disease, lungs, and spleen. I'm associated primarily with the heart chakra.
