- Technically I’m an opaque chalcedony with a hardness of 6.5 to 7.
I’m a dark green with red spots and blotches.
The Greek called me Heliotrope meaning “sun turner” but history has
lost the reason why they chose that name for me.
In the middle ages the red spots were thought to be the Blood of Christ
and magical powers were attributed to the stones.
I have been discovered in India, China, Brazil, Australia, and the USA.
I’m
a great purifier, an excellent blood cleanser and powerful healer.
I work to dispel negative energies and influences from the auric field
bringing balance to the body. I
heighten intuition and increase creativity.
I’m an excellent grounding and protecting stone. I bolster courage and
