  I have a very sensitive nose and many incenses seem to burn away at my sense of smell; it took me a long time to warm up to burning incense of any kind (just ask Lora!)  We have tried countless different manufacturers, blends and styles of incense over the 10 years we have been using and selling incense.  The ones we are proud to offer you below are our personal favorites, they do not offend my sensitive nose and although your reaction to incense will almost certainly be different than mine, you can rest assured that these are extremely high quality incense.

Japanese Style Incense

We sell two types of Japanese style incense, both manufactured by the Shoyeido Incense Co. in Kyoto, Japan.  

The artful blending of carefully selected natural ingredients makes Shoyeido incense unique and exclusive.  The finest quality ingredients are procured by their master blenders and skillfully crafted to perfection. The blending process requires an enormous amount of skill.  When blending with natural ingredients, the quality, balance and ratio of each element is critical.  The slightest variation in amount or quality of any component can dramatically influence the fragrance.  Shoyeido has been refining these techniques for three hundred years ensuring that nothing goes to waste in this intricate production process.

The ingredients are finely ground and carefully mixed with a powdered natural binding material, "tabuko".  Up to fifty varieties of herbs and spices are precisely blended with pure water, quickly shaped and dried very slowly.

Made with such care and containing the finest natural ingredients, Shoyeido incense matures and improves with time.  The scent becomes deeper and more mellow, reflecting the subtlety and refinement for which Shoyeido is known.

The first Japanese incense that we discovered some 10 years ago has changed little over the years.  When we heard that they would be discontinuing this line of affordable incense for a more pricey variety (the difference being a label added to each incense stick) we stocked up!   Now the un-labeled version is only marketed to businesses like ours that have previously sold it.  It comes smartly packaged in a small well designed holder which we have found absolutely indispensable for traveling, we never go on a trip without it.

Ravenwood Family Aromatherapy Incense

We have been using Ravenwoods incense for years in our rituals.  Based on their own blends of oils these long burning and highly fragrant incense sticks are made around a bamboo core and only use the highest quality fragrance and essential oils.  Our absolute favorite is their Dragons Blood, the best we have ever found!

White Light Pentacle Sacred Spirit Incense Sampler

Around 10 years ago on one of our family's frequent visits to Salem Massachusetts, we came across a small store selling herbs, spices and other interesting "Witchy" items.  We purchased some incense from the store and absolutely fell in love with the rich complex scents.  With a little research we found the coven that sells the incense and have been selling it ever since!  It has always been a big seller at our shows, now you can get it without leaving your house!

This incense sampler is compounded under the direction of Guild Master Gwilym the Alchemist.  His secret formulae are those of King John of the Indies, handed down for generations through the Devonshire Incense Guild.  Rare and costly essences and gums from the Indies, Far Cathay, the Land of Punt and the New World have been obtained for the compounding to make this incense the finest possible.  This Sacred Sprit Incense is made to burn slowly (1 hour burn), releasing quantities of rich, fragrant smoke.
